Socio- Economic Development of The Southeastern Development Project
GSEGP has been supported by the Youth Association for Habitat, the GAP Administration, United Nations Development Programme from the year 2001 up to September 2006. The Youth Association has conducted for Habitat for a period of 5 years. The Project has completed its second phase as 9 youth centers in 9 provinces. The third phase is the Project that was conducted by the GAP Administration after 2006 and has been supported technically by Turkey Development Foundation. The Project will be supported for 5 years.
Our Vision
To be a platform and a roof for Works that are carried out for the youth in the southeastern Anatolia region.
Our Mission
To create opportunities for the definition, using initative for the solution and becoming aware of the youth’s problems in“GAP REGION” and to be a facilitator function for the young people’ participation in local decision-making processes; to work in their social development and vocational skills and to help them to be an social actor function by increasing social senitivity.
Our History
GSEGP Gaziantep as Volunteer Youth Group began to work with 2004 February İzmir meeting. In process The Local Agenda has presented Gaziantep by partcipating 21 National Youth Parliment and has taken on as a founder member of the National Youth Parliment. GSEGP Gaziantep has bagun to work officially since 2005.
The 9th Youth Center in the southeastern Anatolia Region was opened on May 9,2006 under GSEGP.
What We Do
- Gaziantep Youth and Culture House managed by young people,
- organizes language, vocational, artistic and hobby courses,
- holds conferences, seminars and informative meetings,
- organizes international youth Exchange projects,
- provides youngsters abroad opportunities,
- holds sport tournaments,
- creats sensitive and intelligent young people,
- most importantly, offers young people a fun and safe social environment.
The team has implanted their workings on an official groundby establishing Youth and Cultural House and on the other hand consists of youths.Some of the successes of the team are;
- Carrying out the first Youth Exchange Project in Gaziantep
- Representing Gaziantep in National Youth Parliament as first
- To get the maximum found from Central Finance and Tender Unity
- To host a forigner with the scope of European Voluntary Service as first
In December 2006,Gaziantep Youth and Cultural House has been established to bring private corporation to association and to transport their workings on to a civilian platform
The team members who wants to change their experiences with other youth associations want to increase the Number of Associations that arranges international activities.With this aim we arranged Job Shadowing Visit in Palerom and lots of trainings for them from July 2008 till now in the scope of EU Project.
The Association that has 18 members in Executive Board and all managements are performing by that 18 youth people.This team member’s duties about Social Development are limited with their imagination.
